I swear that there is some kind of One Room Challenge time warp that occurs because Thursdays seem to come too quickly! It's already time for the week 4 progress update, which means only two weeks left to get the garage makeover completely finished. Getting the "stuff" back in shouldn't be a problem, but it's yet to be seen if I'll be able to get all of the fun and creative projects done. That's a problem for tomorrow though... today let's celebrate what got done this past week. Be ... View the Post

Reclaimed Wood Photo Clipboard

I love how easy it is to just swap out the photo any time you want! This would also be a great way to show of a special postcard from your travels or even a child's drawing! Thanksgiving Table Setting Hack
I have this thing with catalogs. I love flipping through them as soon as they hit my mailbox, and sticking little tabs on all the pages that inspire me. It's tempting to want pretty new stuff every season, but my wallet obviously doesn't agree. Recently I spotted a gorgeous collection of white and gold "thankful" tableware at Crate and Barrel {affiliate link} and thought, maybe I need special plates just for Thanksgiving... but nope, I don't. I don't have the money or the space for a ... View the Post
{gifts with style} Teacher Appreciation Chalkboard Mason Jar Vases
Teacher appreciation week is just around the corner, the week of May 4–8! Today I've got a really cute and easy gift that you can make to say thank you to all the wonderful teachers in your children's lives. When I think teachers I think chalkboards {yes, I'm old school like that}, so I added chalkboard paint to the bottom half of mason jars to create adorable vases that can be filled with just about anything... from flowers to candy, or even classroom supplies. The size of the jars would ... View the Post
{seasonal style} Football Family Halloween
I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe Halloween! The weather was pretty nice here in Denver - a little chilly, but no snow, which beats just about every Halloween I remember from my childhood. Last year, for Beckett's first Halloween, we decided to be "those" people and come up with a family costume. It was a lot of fun and got a great response from the neighbors, so we decide to do it again this year. Scott is teaching his sons at a young age to be die-hard Denver Broncos ... View the Post
{seasonal style} Beautifully Kid-Friendly Christmas Decor
Have you started decorating for Christmas yet? We put up our Christmas tree last night, with the help of our two young boys, and as we did so, I was reminded of the blog post I wrote a couple of years ago about how to keep Christmas decorations baby and kid-safe without sacrificing style. I know a lot of moms and dads feel hesitant to decorate for Christmas when they have very young kids in the house, both out of concern for the safety of those little ones, and for fear of sentimental items ... {decorating with style} And the Winner Is…
A month or so ago, I had a ton of fun putting together three very different room concepts for Beckett's future "big boy room" and I really love them all. Master Bedroom Makeover Without Buying New Furniture
A few weeks ago I told you about a call I received from a college friend asking for help giving her master bedroom a new, more sophisticated look, and today I'm ecstatic to show you the dramatic transformation we achieved in the space despite keeping the room layout and most of the same furniture! In my two prior posts about this space, I shared a lot of information about the space and the design plans, so I won't rehash all of that here {since I know you really just want to see the pretty ... {seasonal style} A Glass Ornament Window Display
Earlier this week I shared how we made our Christmas tree both beautiful and baby friendly. I am totally smitten with our Christmas tree, but I also have so many pretty glass ornaments that I love, and I didn't want to leave them just sitting in storage boxes for years until our boys are old enough to no longer need a baby safe tree. So today I want to show you the window display I created to hang all of our delicate, glass ornaments safely out of the reach of little hands. I created ... View the Post
Retro Christmas Front Porch Decor
"Tiny tots, with their eyes all aglow"... I've always loved that line in Nat King Cole's The Christmas Song, and I'll admit that I'm a total sucker when it comes to fulfilling my kids' requests for Christmas decorations. A few years back, I bought two small Christmas trees for our front steps, and I usually hang a wreath on each door, but this year the kids asked for some colored lights and decorations for the trees, so I knew it was time to step up my porch decor game a bit. I teamed ... View the Post
