My friend Melissa, from A Prudent Life, and I share a passion for creating stylish organizing solutions, and we recently started a hashtag challenge on Instagram where we are asking you to play along by tagging photos on a weekly organizing topic using #organizingwithstyle - and you don't have to be a blogger to participate! For week 2 of the challenge, we asked to see photos of how you use stylishly organize your laundry room, and today, we've rounded up some ... View the Post

{style inspiration} From the Set of Melissa & Joey
My husband thinks I'm a little crazy, but when we watch TV, I'm often paying closer attention to the interior design details than I am to the storyline. And when I'm flipping channels and see a gorgeous room, I'll often stop and watch just to check out the details of the layout and furnishings. That was the case recently when I ended up watching an episode of Melissa & Joey for the first time all because I caught a glimpse of a to-die-for couch! via I've seen a lot of button tufted ... Happy Monday, everyone! There's a pretty cool Tour through Blogland happening right now, and last week I was invited to participate by Christy, the lovely lady behind Confessions of a Serial Do-It-Yourselfer. So today, instead of sharing a project with you, I'm going to be answering some questions to give you a bit of insight about my work and my creative process, and then I have the pleasure of introducing you to three other bloggers that I think you are going to love! Five Minute Friday!
TGIF! I have a big announcement today that I am very excited about! So without further ado, let me introduce you to a new weekly feature on the blog that I am calling Five Minute Friday! I am always working on big projects around our house, whether they be decorating a room or organizing an entire closet. At the same time, however, there are just as many little projects that get done while my kids are eating lunch or while I'm chatting on the phone, and often times I struggle with whether those ... Modern & Merry Christmas Home Tour
We started decorating for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving, and somewhere along the way we decided to rearrange the living room. The decorating is almost done, but the house is definitely in hot mess mode with fall decor piled on the stairs to be put away and boxes and bins waiting to be returned to the garage. I'll be taking more photos of our holiday decorations once I get everything cleaned up, but I get so excited about Christmas decor that I couldn't help but share some sneak peeks ... View the Post
Rooftop Retreat: Week 5 {One Room Challenge}
UPDATE: The Rooftop Deck Makeover is COMPLETE! See the finished space here! I mentioned a few weeks ago that in addition to turning our rooftop deck into an outdoor living room, I also want to use the space as an outdoor movie theater. Today I want to share a few more details about those plans. Remember that big, blank white stucco wall on the deck? This wall has always provided a design challenge in my mind. My goal is to make this wall feel like a focal point by hanging a ... View the Post

It's a small room, so I can't really show you photos from different angles, but I will show you the before and after, and then walk you through some of the details and the changes we've made to this little room. When we bought ... View the Post
Modern Rooftop Deck Design Tips & Inspiration
While rooftop decks were once an amenity reserved for swanky hotels and high end apartment complexes, the popularity of residential rooftop decks has been on the rise in the past decade. Whether it's to take advantage of better views from this elevated vantage point, or to gain more outdoor space on a small city lot, realtors report that in many markets rooftop decks help to sell homes and can provide a great return on investment. After giving our rooftop deck a complete makeover this ... View the Post

Turning a Printer Stand into a Rolling Bar Cart
Thank you to Rust-Oleum for sponsoring this post. As always all opinions are my own. You can read my full disclosure statement here. The saying goes that "all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy," so I took the work out of a boring printer stand, and turned it into a stylish, rolling bar cart perfect for play and entertaining. This is the final makeover in my Drab to Fab makeover series for the Denver Home Show {you can find the other three here: 1920's ... View the Post
