Over the weekend, I had the privilege of presenting an organizing seminar at IKEA Centennial where I shared lots of stylish storage ideas as part of their big IKEA FAMILY event. Today, all of the ideas from Saturday's seminar are right here on the blog, including the new days of the week clothing organization system I created to make mornings with a preschooler run more smoothly. I have just a couple of go to stores when it comes to starting any new organizing project, and IKEA is ... View the Post

How to Store Leftover Paint + Free Printable Paint Labels
Saying we have a lot of leftover paint might be an understatement! When we bought our home, the builder left us a touch up kit with 2 quarts of each color of paint used throughout the house (including all the original wall colors, the trim, ceilings, and closet interior paints). Since that time we have repainted many of the rooms in the house, resulting in even more leftover paint. In the boys' bedroom alone, where we painted ombre stripes, we have five different colors of teal paint to ... View the Post
{decorating with style} Honeymoon Inspired Guest Bath
Last week I relived a little of our honeymoon by sharing photos from the breathtaking Greek islands of Mykonos and Santorini, and telling you about one of the amazing hotels we stayed at - Mykonos Grace. We were so inspired by our travels in Greece that we decided to infuse some Mykonos Grace style into our guest room and guest bath. {Click here to see the guest room} Reminiscent of the whitewashed architecture of the Greek islands, Mykonos Grace was a ... Labeling Trash, Recycling & Compost Bins
Right after we moved into our house we swapped out the single pull out trash can in the kitchen for a double pull-out system that allows us to have both trash and recycling hidden within a single cabinet. Recently, Denver began a new compost program and we are excited to be participating, but this mean adding one more trash can. Since we had no space for an additional can within a cabinet or under the kitchen sink, we opted for a stainless steel flip-top can at the end of our counter. This ... View the Post
Kate Spade Inspired Bar Cart Accessories
Last month I turned an old printer stand into a trendy bar cart as part of the Drab to Fab furniture makeover series that I worked on in partnership with Rust-Oleum to be displayed at the Denver Home Show. But I quickly realized the bar cart just didn't look as cool as I envisioned when it was empty - it really needed to be staged with bottles are bar accessories at the Home Show in order for people to get the full picture. That meant I needed to come up with a few quick items to stage the cart ... View the Post
Color-Dipped Letter Ornaments + More DIY Christmas Ornaments
Am I the only one who feels like unpacking the Christmas decorations is almost as good as opening presents on Christmas morning? It makes me so excited for all of the joy and magic of the season ahead! Maybe it's a sign that I have to many decorations, but each year I unpack a few decorations that I've completely forgotten about from the year before, and this time around one of those pleasant surprises was the set of color-dipped letter ornaments that I DIY'd for the skinny tree in our living ... How to Create an Easy DIY Wood Sign with Cricut
Thank you to Cricut for sponsoring this post, and thank you for supporting the brands that make this blog possible. As always all opinions are my own. This post contains also affiliate links. Glam IKEA Lack Hack with a Magazine Sling
Thank you to Rust-Oleum for sponsoring this post. As always all opinions are my own. You can read my full disclosure statement here. If you've ever shopped at IKEA {or even if you haven't} you've probably seen the simple little side table they sell called the LACK. It costs a whopping $7.99, but it has SO much potential. A couple of months ago a neighbor offered up a LACK side table that she didn't need any longer, and I knew it would be a perfect addition to the Drab ... View the Post
{organizing with style} Managing Kitchen Paper Piles with a Simple Filing System
One of the blogs that inspired me to start my own was iHeartOrganizing. This year, iHeart’s Jen is issuing a monthly organizing challenge, and February is focused on the kitchen. While I certainly need to give my pantry a major overhaul, I just knew I wouldn’t be able to complete that project this month - and fortunately in the meantime it’s behind a closed door. So I instead decide to participate in Jen’s challenge by tackling a smaller problem, but one that’s out in the open - our ... View the Post
{organizing with style} Tips for Proper Paint Storage, Disposal, and Recycling
We recently completed Project Paint Storage at our house, which included transferring all of our latex paint into plastic, screw-top canisters with labels, creating a customized paint deck, completing paint reference charts, compiling a kit to make organizing new paint quick and easy in the future, and finally organizing and storing all of our other painting supplies in our utility room. During the course of this project, we did a lot of research regarding ... View the Post
How to Properly Store, Dispose Of, and Recycle Paint and Paint Cans
As a serial DIYer, I'm always repainting the walls in our house, and painting just about everything else in sight with spray paint. That leaves us with a lot of leftover paint and, in time, a lot of empty paint cans. We have a very small utility room and a detached, unheated garage, so I had a lot of questions about how and where I could safely store my leftover paint, and how to properly dispose of paint and paint cans. I did a lot of research regarding both paint storage and disposal options, ... View the Post
