I love to travel! Near... far... I'll go anywhere! And prepping for a trip is half the fun. I enjoy the process of researching and learning about new places as I plan our adventures. The list maker in me even loves to make a great trip prep to do list. When it came time to actually pack, though... that was the one part of the process I dreaded because my suitcases and travel accessories were a disorganized mess and finding what I needed was a headache. But no longer! I spent an ... View the Post

{one room challenge} Ironing Out the Kinks: Laundry Room Week 4 Update
Welcome back to another week of our One Room Challenge laundry/linen closet makeover. We're at week 4 of this 6 week challenge, and we've come to the point in the process where we're checking some of the more labor intensive items off of the list, but everything is taking a little longer than I'd like and there's a lot of problem solving and adapting along the way. I call this the "ironing out the kinks" week. Before I show you what we accomplished this week, let me remind that our ... View the Post

UPDATE: Thanks for stopping by to see our kitchen. The photos below are a couple of years old, so if you want to see some more updated photos of the kitchen, you'll find them in these seasonal home tours: It's home tour time! Last week I kicked off our home tour by showing you the entire second level, including the nursery, our toddler's "big boy room," our guest room and guest bath, and our laundry closet. The Best Craft Projects of 2017 from More Than 30 Bloggers
Yesterday I looked back at my Top 5 Decorating and DIY projects of 2017, and today I'm talking crafts! It should probably come as no surprise that my most popular crafty project of the year also involves organizing (you guys love organizing as much as I do). Or maybe it made the top of the list because it's an IKEA hack... everyone loves those, too! I turned a raw wood MOPPE mini-chest of drawers into a stylish cord and charger organizer for my kitchen counter with some paint, stain, and ... View the Post

It's the half way point of the One Room Challenge and it's about time I start making some real progress on our rooftop deck! Fortunately last week's blizzard conditions have passed and the 10-day forecast shows mostly sunny, moderate temperature days. Let me catch you up quickly on what we are up to! Our home is built on three levels with a rooftop deck off of our master bedroom. We had grand visions of relaxing evenings on this deck back when we bought our house more than a ... View the Post
Modern & Merry Christmas Home Tour
We started decorating for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving, and somewhere along the way we decided to rearrange the living room. The decorating is almost done, but the house is definitely in hot mess mode with fall decor piled on the stairs to be put away and boxes and bins waiting to be returned to the garage. I'll be taking more photos of our holiday decorations once I get everything cleaned up, but I get so excited about Christmas decor that I couldn't help but share some sneak peeks ... View the Post
{seasonal style} Thrift Store Framed Becomes a Spooky Halloween Decoration
October seems to be flying by, but it's finally starting to feel like Halloween around our house! I unpacked my Mason Jar Jack O'Lanterns, my Peek-A-Boo Color Carved Pumpkins, and added cobwebs and candles everywhere. And I also created one new addition to our Halloween decor...a spooky, 3D framed skull! Remember that photo from last week of the three thrift store items that I received in the mail as part of the #SwapItLikeItsHot challenge? I showed you how I upcycled the clipboard and ... Front Porch Halloween Decorations
The boys are four and five now, and if I could freeze time, I would. These are such fun ages, and I love how excited they get about everything - especially each holiday! For weeks, they've been begging me to decorate for Halloween. We always have quite a bit of holiday decor inside, but this year they also requested front porch Halloween decorations as well. Last year, I decorated the porch with some fun Dia de Los Muertos finds, but the boys really wanted a traditional Halloween porch ... View the Post
