Some may say that the mason jar trend has run its course, but the fact remains that these classic glass jars are so versatile and affordable that they'll always be the ideal candidates for a quick and stylish upcycle. I still love them because they can be made to fit any style. This month, the All Things Creative team has rounded up ten of our all-time favorite mason jar projects to remind you that whether you're looking for something simple and chic, farmhouse fab, or colorful and ... {style inspiration} Interior Design Inspiration from the 2016 IKEA Catalog
Every year I eagerly sit down with my hot off the presses IKEA catalog and begin marking the pages all the items on my wish list with colorful sticky flags. But this year I got impatient waiting for the 2016 catalog to hit my mailbox, so I decide to start my browsing with the digital version instead. And even now that my paper catalog has arrived, I'm pretty hooked on the online version! When I watch tv and movies, I sometimes have a hard time focusing on the show because I'm so ... View the Post
{five minute friday} Tick Tock: A Chalk Wall Clock
I rely on the cell phone in my pocket to know what time it is, completely ignoring all the clocks in our house most of the time. My boys on the other hand are fascinated by clocks - and not the digital ones on the appliances, but the real ones! So while they were at preschool the other day, I added a quick and easy clock to their chalkboard wall in the kitchen. They spotted it the second we came through the door after school, and man were they excited! A while back, I ... View the Post
Designing a Colorful Rooftop Deck
I'm working with a new client who has a very hip house near the city, with a modern and colorful vibe. We're starting from scratch on a few rooms in the house, and sprucing up a couple more. Transforming the rooftop deck is his top priority, so we're hurrying to finish it in time for him to enjoy a couple of months of warm patio weather before fall arrives. I love working on design projects, and this time around I wanted to get you guys involved in the fun as well! Over the last couple of ... View the Post

{seasonal style} “Caps For Sale” Halloween Costume + 17 More DIY Costume Ideas
Last year, I showed you some photos of my boys' "Caps for Sale" Halloween costumes a few days after the holiday, but since it was post-Halloween and no longer timely, I didn't share the tutorial at that time. But I have received quite a few questions about the DIY elements of the costumes, so I thought that this year I would provide the quick how-to well in advance of the holiday. And today, I've joined with some other fabulous bloggers that have created 17 more fantastic DIY costumes for kids ... View the Post
My First Time Using Chalk Paint – Challenges but Ultimate Success
Let me start by saying that I am no expert when it comes to painting furniture. In fact, that is an understatement! I had a bad experience back in law school when I cluelessly painted a cheap wood-laminate bookshelf using latex paint... the first coat went on ok, but when I tried to paint the second coat, each brush stroke just peeled up the paint from the first coat. It was a hot mess and I vowed that I would never paint furniture again! Fast forward ten years and I had gained a lot DIY ... View the Post
{style inspiration} 9 Fun Quizzes to Find Your Home Design Style
How would you describe your home style? Can you put it into words? This week, I joined a group of 20 creative and stylish bloggers for the My Home Style blog hop, and we were each challenged to describe our personal decor style in just three words, and even though I feel like I know my style pretty well, articulating it is harder than you would think! I finally came up with: Modern. Graphic. Family. I explained what that means to me and what it looks like in my home in yesterday's ... View the Post
The New and Improved Denver Union Station and the Crawford Hotel
Although I am not currently practicing law {since I am staying home with my boys for a couple of years}, one my favorite parts of my job representing metropolitan districts was getting an inside look at some of the major development and redevelopment projects happening around Denver and throughout Colorado. Last spring, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to take a hard hat tour of Denver's Union Station mid-renovation {and, of course, I blogged all about it}. Ever since that time, I ... Modern & Merry Christmas Home Tour
We started decorating for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving, and somewhere along the way we decided to rearrange the living room. The decorating is almost done, but the house is definitely in hot mess mode with fall decor piled on the stairs to be put away and boxes and bins waiting to be returned to the garage. I'll be taking more photos of our holiday decorations once I get everything cleaned up, but I get so excited about Christmas decor that I couldn't help but share some sneak peeks ... View the Post
