Today I am guest posting over at Pretty Well Organized on the topic of organizing memories. My husband and I will be celebrating our seventh anniversary this summer, but I still feel like our wedding was just yesterday, in part because we are surrounded by wonderful memories of that special day throughout our home. Like most people, I have hundreds thousands of photos of our wedding and the events that surrounded it, and I know that even just getting those photos into an album can seem a ... View the Post

{gifts with style} Double-Sided Framed Wedding Invitation
If you checked out yesterday's blog post, then you know that it's wedding anniversary week here at my house, and in honor of our sixth anniversary I'm sharing some of the ways that I've turned our wedding memories into décor that we can enjoy in our home on a daily basis. Today's post is a pretty simple idea, but one that I'm proud of nonetheless because it took me six years to finally accomplishing it. I framed our wedding invitation. I know, I know... ... {gifts with style} Wedding Photo Framed By Vows
This weekend, Scott and I will be celebrating our 6th wedding anniversary. In honor of our upcoming anniversary, I want to share a few ideas for creating personalized home decor that celebrates wedding memories, starting today with a spin on a traditional framed photo. Our wedding was a beautiful event, and we have lots of photos from that day displayed throughout our house. But what I most want to remember from that day are the promises that Scott and I made to one another. ... View the Post
{five minute friday} Framed Photo Stamps
If you checked out my One Room Challenge reveal of our new master bedroom yesterday, then you already got a glimpse of today's Five Minute Friday project. Today I am sharing the simple details because despite being so quick and easy, it really makes me smile! I don't even know if it's still "cool" to use photo stamps for your wedding stationery, but when I got married back in 2007 it was pretty trendy so I think it's a safe bet that I'm not the only one who has a bunch of extra ... The Best Baby Shower Game: Baby Face Mix and Match
I've helped to host quite a few baby showers over the past several years, and it seems almost universal that the guest of honor/mom-to-be says these two things: (1) "I don't really love baby shower games. No, really, please don't make me look at candy melted in diapers!"; and (2) "It makes me a little uncomfortable to be the center of attention during present opening." I hear you, my friends! As a result of these common sentiments, I have two favorite go-to baby shower activities that always ... View the Post
How to Make a Tissue Paper Tassel Garland
Tissue paper tassels are all the rage right now! And it's no wonder why - since they are so dang cute and all! I recently made about 60 tissue paper tassels to decorate for the Stock the Kitchen wedding shower that I hosted for my sister-in-law, and while it took a bit longer than I anticipated {about 2.5 hours with my mom and I working together}, the process of making each tassel is quite easy and I learned some tricks along the way to make it even easier. SUPPLIES Tissue paper in your ... View the Post

They make a great addition to any outdoor space, and when the the candles are lit they add so much warmth and ambiance. These days, there is no shortage of great lantern styles to choose from in all different shapes, ... View the Post
Graphic Glam Master Bathroom Makeover
I recently read a quote from interior designer Ken Fulk that said, "Design should inspire and make you smile, and should never be a bore." Just six short weeks ago our master bathroom was definitely a bore, but now it's so graphic, and glam, and just plain pretty, that I can't stop smiling from ear to ear. During the course of the One Room Challenge, our bathroom has gone from the most ignored room in the house, to my very favorite room! I'm so excited to finally be able to share it with ... Pretty Pantry Labels Three Ways + FREE PRINTABLE LABELS
Last week I shared my five steps for creating an organized and pretty pantry, and I gave you a tour of our pantry space. Over a year after first completing our pantry makeover, the space is functioning just as well today as it did on day one - and I believe we have the labels to thank for that! Without labels, our pantry would just be a sea of matching white bins. I would have a pretty good idea of what goes where, since I organized it to start with, but imagine my poor kids and husband! They ... View the Post
Organizing Kids Toys with Labels that Are Easy to Update
Raise your hand if you love to label ALL. THE. THINGS? Me too! Labeling is one of the most important steps in the process of creating an organized space, because it makes it easy for everyone in the family to find what they need, and makes it much easier to put everything away where it belongs. But not all labels are created equal. A label is only good if it's accurate, so it's important to make labels easy to update for those spots in the house where the contents are likely to change ... Our Annivesary: The Story of His Proposal
Hi friends! Today Scott and I are celebrating our 9th wedding anniversary, so in honor of that, I thought I'd take a little departure from the normal decor, DIY, and organizing talk to share the story of how he proposed. If grand gestures and lovey-dovey stories make you want to gag, feel free to avert your eyes now and come back tomorrow for another great Five Minute Friday DIY project. But if Hallmark Channel-worthy love stories are your jam, then read on! Scott and ... View the Post
{organizing with style} Project Paint Storage and a Free Printable
To say we have a lot of latex paint might be an understatement! When we bought our home, the builder left us a touch up kit with 2 quarts of each color of paint used throughout the house (including the original wall colors, the trim, ceilings, and closet interior paints). Additionally, we have since repainted many of the rooms in the house, resulting in a lot more leftover paint (and in the case of the ombre stripes in the nursery we used five different colors). Until a few weeks ... View the Post
