Today marks the conclusion of Boy Mom Madness, so it seems fitting that my Five Minute Friday project should also be for the boys. Beckett goes to preschool two days a week, and they do an art project every day. That's a lot of fabulous three-year old art that comes into our house! Right now I am keeping all of it in a bin, and I have ideas in mind for how I'll decide what the keep, and how to document it without saving every piece of paper. But those are stories for other days. Today, I'm ... View the Post

{shopping for style} In Search of a Room Divider
Thanks for stopping by today because I need your input! Yesterday I showed you our "temporary" exercise room - temporary in that, when we set the room up, we knew it would someday be converted into a kid's bedroom. And now that day is almost here. The exercise room will soon become Beckett's "big boy" room, leaving the question of what to do with our two large pieces of workout equipment - the elliptical machine and our stationary bike. I've always envisioned that ... View the Post

{organizing with style} Cabinet Pulls Turned Scarf Hangers
I realize that most of my recent posts have been very baby-centered, and with baby number 2 arriving VERY SOON, there will be lots more baby related posts to come. But I thought I'd give you all a break with something a bit more "adult." My collection of scarves has grown quite a bit since I first organized our master bedroom closet a few years back. At that time, I added some small drawers from the Container Store to one of the closet shelves, and neatly folded all of my scarves into ... View the Post
{decorating with style} Zebra Cornice Boards – Part 1
Our nursery has been ALMOST complete since Beckett was born nearly 17 months ago. But the one project we never got around to finishing were the window coverings for the room. Now that Baby Number 2 is set to arrive in a matter of weeks, I decided it was time was finally get this project done! We love how modern the architecture of our home is, but one element that poses a big challenge is the abundance of long, thin horizontal windows throughout the house. On the main floor of our house ... View the Post

I made these adorable Scrabble tile inspired DIY coasters for our living room, and I think they are the perfect Valentine's gift idea or even a fantastic wedding or anniversary gift idea! This post contains affiliate links. If you purchase something I recommend, you'll pay the same price, but I may receive a small commission. Valentine’s Day Decor: DIY Kate Spade Inspired Xs and Os
Raise your hand if you love Kate Spade. Yep, that's what I thought! Me too! I love all things Kate Spade, but those iconic black and white stripes and gold polka dots are especially swoon worthy! So when I decided to add some quick and easy Valentine's Day decor to our home, I drew my inspiration from Kate. As you probably know by now, paper mache letters from Hobby Lobby are one of my favorite craft supplies. I've used them for numerous other projects {like the Restoration Hardware ... View the Post
Mood Board: Planes, Trains and Automobiles
As you probably know by now, we are in the process of deciding how to decorate Beckett's big boy room. Last week I shared two mood boards with different design concepts for a room that Beckett can grow into at least through early elementary school. Click to see the mood boards for the Beach Bum Big Boy Room and the Vintage Preppy Little Man's Lounge. Today's mood board, which I call Planes, Trains & Automobiles, is a more traditional theme for a young boy. While I tend to ... View the Post
Graphic Glam Master Bathroom Makeover
I recently read a quote from interior designer Ken Fulk that said, "Design should inspire and make you smile, and should never be a bore." Just six short weeks ago our master bathroom was definitely a bore, but now it's so graphic, and glam, and just plain pretty, that I can't stop smiling from ear to ear. During the course of the One Room Challenge, our bathroom has gone from the most ignored room in the house, to my very favorite room! I'm so excited to finally be able to share it with ... {One Room Challenge} Week 2 – A Whole Lotta Painting Going On
For those who missed my announcement last week, I am a joining in the One Room Challenge as a link participant! That means that I have only 6 weeks to complete Beckett's big boy room... well, it's not six weeks anymore, because here we are already at week 2! Last week I shared all of my plans for the room, including the mood board and the long to do list, and this week I'm back to share a report on our progress. It's no exaggeration to say that the only thing I've been doing for the last week ... View the Post
{one room challenge} Fluff & Fold: Laundry Room Week 5 Update
We are in the home stretch now! Only one more week left until the big reveal of our laundry room and linen closet makeover, which really means we have just a few days to finish everything up in order to allow time to photograph and prepare the reveal post. This is nail biting time, my friends! Will it all get done? I'm feeling optimistic, but there are still a couple projects that I have yet to work out the logistics of, so we'll see! But we did manage to accomplish a lot this week, so ... View the Post
{organizing with style} Turning a Laundry Closet Into a Laundry Room
UPDATE: This red laundry room was my FIRST ever blog post. Since that time, I've completely revamped this laundry closet to create a lighter and brighter space, with temporary wallpaper, a hanging light fixture, cabinets and lots more storage. I'd love for you to check out the upated laundry room makeover. When we moved into our house four years ago, the laundry space was the first project that I tackled, and so it seems fitting that it be the topic of my first official blog ... View the Post
