I think it's safe to say that I have no fear of color. Especially when it comes to decorating kids' rooms, I say, the more color the better! BUT I also have my practical side, and I'm passionate about creating kids' spaces that can grow with them {I even wrote a post with tips for designing a boy's room that grows with him}. So when I wanted to add some vibrant color to the bookshelf in my sons' new shared bedroom, I didn't want to do anything too permanent. Rather than painting the doors of ... View the Post

Here We Go Again…Kitchen Edition
There hasn't been much happening on the blog the last few weeks (blame the new puppy!), but it's like with kids... when they are quiet you need to worry about what they're getting up to. And while it's been quiet on the blog I've come up with the crazy, last minute idea to jump into the One Room Challenge again this spring. If you've been reading the blog for a while now, you're probably pretty familiar with the One Room Challenge, which I've participated in a whopping seven times before ... View the Post
The New and Improved Denver Union Station and the Crawford Hotel
Although I am not currently practicing law {since I am staying home with my boys for a couple of years}, one my favorite parts of my job representing metropolitan districts was getting an inside look at some of the major development and redevelopment projects happening around Denver and throughout Colorado. Last spring, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to take a hard hat tour of Denver's Union Station mid-renovation {and, of course, I blogged all about it}. Ever since that time, I ... The Ultimate Target-Themed Birthday Party
Target is my happy place! When I was in law school and stressed about papers and exams, strolling around Target (even when I had no money to shop) was like my own personal form of therapy. Years later, as a new mom, people would advise me to sleep when the baby slept... but instead I often preferred to push a sleeping baby around Target in a stroller. If you can relate to any of this, then let me introduce you to Cassondra Selby. She has officially earned the title of Coolest Mom by ... View the Post
Modern Home Office Design Plans 3 Ways
A few months ago I shared some home office organization tips with you, and I mentioned that I was dreaming of redesigning my office space in our basement bedroom. With a little encouragement from my friends over at The Home Depot, who are sponsoring today's post, and with some help from all of you who have shared your opinions with me over on Facebook this week, my dream office plans are finally starting to take shape! When we moved from our small downtown condo to our current home back ... View the Post
{shopping for style} Great Resources for Affordable Decorative Knobs & Pulls
Changing out hardware is one of the easiest ways to refresh the look of your space without investing a lot of time or money. Decorative knobs and pulls are like jewelry for your furniture and cabinets, and just like the accessories we choose for ourselves, they can be understated or can make a bold statement about our style and personality. By simply updating your hardware, you can adopt the latest trend or capture a period-specific style. Best of off all, it requires minimal commitment and can ... View the Post
Modern Rooftop Deck Makeover
Denver weather is unpredictable in the spring, so I knew it was risky to take on an outdoor project for the One Room Challenge. We've had snow no less than 3 times during the five weeks of this challenge, and rain and thunderstorms everyday this week leading up to reveal day. On Monday, I had resigned myself to the fact that I likely wouldn't be able to take photos of our new rooftop deck in time to meet the end ORC deadline. Fortunately, a brief break in the rain gave me the hour I needed ... View the Post

Rooftop Retreat: Week 4
It's already week 4 of the One Room Challenge and I feel like I've been away more than I've been home throughout this process. I'm currently writing this from a plane waiting to take of from Salt Lake City, headed home after my grandmas funeral. Needless to say, our progress has been slow going, but progress is progress, so I'll show you what we got done this week. As a quick refresher, we're working on the third floor deck that wraps around our master bedroom and bathroom. We ... View the Post
Modern & Merry Christmas Home Tour
We started decorating for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving, and somewhere along the way we decided to rearrange the living room. The decorating is almost done, but the house is definitely in hot mess mode with fall decor piled on the stairs to be put away and boxes and bins waiting to be returned to the garage. I'll be taking more photos of our holiday decorations once I get everything cleaned up, but I get so excited about Christmas decor that I couldn't help but share some sneak peeks ... View the Post

Five Minute Friday!
TGIF! I have a big announcement today that I am very excited about! So without further ado, let me introduce you to a new weekly feature on the blog that I am calling Five Minute Friday! I am always working on big projects around our house, whether they be decorating a room or organizing an entire closet. At the same time, however, there are just as many little projects that get done while my kids are eating lunch or while I'm chatting on the phone, and often times I struggle with whether those ...
