Earlier this week I shared how we made our Christmas tree both beautiful and baby friendly. I am totally smitten with our Christmas tree, but I also have so many pretty glass ornaments that I love, and I didn't want to leave them just sitting in storage boxes for years until our boys are old enough to no longer need a baby safe tree. So today I want to show you the window display I created to hang all of our delicate, glass ornaments safely out of the reach of little hands. I created ... View the Post

DIY Map Ornaments
I love to travel and I have a bit of an obsession with maps! Years ago I came across a set of gold landmark ornaments that I just couldn't pass up, and I decided then and there that one day I would have a travel-themed Christmas tree. I began looking for a Christmas ornament to bring home as a souvenir from each country we visit. And I also thought it would be really fun idea make a set of DIY map ornaments to commemorate each of our travel destinations. I considered a lot of different ... View the Post
{seasonal style} My Home Style: Christmas Tree Edition
Welcome to another addition of "My Home Style." Today we're talking Christmas trees. As you may already know, I describe my personal style as MODERN. GRAPHIC. FAMILY. Last year I showed you how the big Christmas tree in our basement {the one where Santa leaves the loot} reflects this style, but today I'm excited to show you the new ornaments I made for the skinny tree in our living room. Special thanks to Stephanie of Casa Watkins for coordinating today's My Home Style: Christmas ... View the Post

I'll warn you up front this story is a little long, but it's a heartwarming story perfect for Christmas and I hope you'll take a few minutes to read it... at the end I'll reward you with photos of a very pretty Christmas tree that I designed for some very special children! The old adage is true - it's always better to give than to receive! Happy Holidays, friends! Have you put up your tree yet? I am participating in the Very Merry Christmas Home Tour hosted by Lovely Etc. Twenty-eight other bloggers are inviting you in to tour their holiday decor this week, and ... View the Post
Pretty Pantry Labels Three Ways + FREE PRINTABLE LABELS
Last week I shared my five steps for creating an organized and pretty pantry, and I gave you a tour of our pantry space. Over a year after first completing our pantry makeover, the space is functioning just as well today as it did on day one - and I believe we have the labels to thank for that! Without labels, our pantry would just be a sea of matching white bins. I would have a pretty good idea of what goes where, since I organized it to start with, but imagine my poor kids and husband! They ... View the Post
Organizing Kids Toys with Labels that Are Easy to Update
Raise your hand if you love to label ALL. THE. THINGS? Me too! Labeling is one of the most important steps in the process of creating an organized space, because it makes it easy for everyone in the family to find what they need, and makes it much easier to put everything away where it belongs. But not all labels are created equal. A label is only good if it's accurate, so it's important to make labels easy to update for those spots in the house where the contents are likely to change ... {seasonal style} Painted Christmas Trees
I can't believe Christmas is only five days away! I should have been wrapping presents for the last couple of days, but instead I've been busy finishing up my decorative Christmas tree craft project. Earlier this week I showed you where this project started - with three paper mache cone Christmas trees, three flat chipboard Christmas trees, and a whole lot of paints and craft supplies. Basically, one big mess on the kitchen table. I tackled the paper mache Christmas trees first, ... View the Post
Mess Free Glitter Ornaments
This Christmas season, I've had the incredible opportunity to connect with a great organization in my community - the Anchor Center for Blind Children - by providing them with a donated Christmas tree that I decorated for their family upcoming holiday party. I'll be sharing all of the details about that project and the fully decorated tree next week, but today I want to show how I created some custom ornaments for the tree. This is a great project for the kids to help with - super quick and ... View the Post

{organizing with style} Project Paint Storage and a Free Printable
To say we have a lot of latex paint might be an understatement! When we bought our home, the builder left us a touch up kit with 2 quarts of each color of paint used throughout the house (including the original wall colors, the trim, ceilings, and closet interior paints). Additionally, we have since repainted many of the rooms in the house, resulting in a lot more leftover paint (and in the case of the ombre stripes in the nursery we used five different colors). Until a few weeks ... View the Post
