If there was any upside to the lockdowns of the past year, it's that we came to really solidified my belief in the importance of creating a home you love. Having fun and comfortable places where you can just relax and enjoy family time is one of the greatest gifts! And that's exactly why I'm so excited that this spring, as a guest participant in the One Room Challenge, I'll be turning our basement family room into the ultimate game room! One Room Challenge This is my tenth time ... View the Post

{one room challenge} Ironing Out the Kinks: Laundry Room Week 4 Update
Welcome back to another week of our One Room Challenge laundry/linen closet makeover. We're at week 4 of this 6 week challenge, and we've come to the point in the process where we're checking some of the more labor intensive items off of the list, but everything is taking a little longer than I'd like and there's a lot of problem solving and adapting along the way. I call this the "ironing out the kinks" week. Before I show you what we accomplished this week, let me remind that our ... View the Post
{five minute friday} Simple Halloween Decorating Ideas Using Spider Webs
Walking around my neighborhood this week, I've realized that many of my neighbors decorate for Halloween as elaborately as most people decorate for Christmas! There are some seriously decked out houses around here, which will make trick-or-treating with the kids even more fun! Now that I have kids, I put out more Halloween decorations than I used to, but today I want to talk about one of my favorite, simple ways to add some Halloween spook to your home without spending much time or ... {blog upgrades} Getting Haven Ready!
If you follow me on social media, then you are going to be hearing and seeing a lot about Haven throughout this weekend, so I thought I'd fill you in really quickly on what it's all about. Haven is a conference for home/design/DIY bloggers, and my awesome husband purchased one of the highly-sought-after conference tickets as my birthday present! On Thursday I'll be hopping on a plane to Atlanta where I'll get to spend the weekend gathering with other design and DIY lovers, listening to speakers ... View the Post
100 Stylish DIY Christmas Tree, Ornament, and Wreath Ideas
Christmas trees, and ornaments, and wreaths, OH MY! Sorry, my kids have discovered The Wizard of Oz, so we've been watching it on loop. While the kids are cuddled up with this movie classic, I've been knee deep in holiday decorating, and I really love unpacking all the decor that I've made myself. I love that it's unique and personal, and it doesn't hurt that I saved a bundle by DIYing. Do you love to create your own Christmas decorations as well? Since it's the season of trees and ... Modern & Merry Christmas Home Tour
We started decorating for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving, and somewhere along the way we decided to rearrange the living room. The decorating is almost done, but the house is definitely in hot mess mode with fall decor piled on the stairs to be put away and boxes and bins waiting to be returned to the garage. I'll be taking more photos of our holiday decorations once I get everything cleaned up, but I get so excited about Christmas decor that I couldn't help but share some sneak peeks ... View the Post

These adorable Christmas photo props were super quick and easy to make using my Cricut Expore Air, and they are definitely going to ... View the Post
{five minute friday} Pillow Talk: My Seasonal Pillow Swap
Swapping pillows can be one of the easiest ways to change up your decor! Whether you're just craving a new style, or wanting to add some seasonal decor, a quick change of the pillows on your couch and chairs can have a big impact! I usually wait until after Labor Day to start adding fall decor to the main floor of my house, but last night, after the kids went to bed, I was feeling motivated, so I went for it! I spent about an hour putting away some of our more summery decor and bring in some ... View the Post
DIY Sheet Music Feature Wall + Free Printable Song Lyrics Posters
Remember that rock & roll themed playroom that I created for my boys in the former storage space under our basement stairs?! I hope you do, because it's one of my favorite spaces! We covered the ceiling in records, so when you stand at the door looking into the playroom, you see 45s as far as the eye can see - which is a pretty cool view {if I do say so myself}. But my favorite is actually the one you get if you walk into the playroom and look up above the door! That's where you see the ... View the Post

{One Room Challenge} Week 3 Update
As most of you know by now, I am taking part in the One Room Challenge as a link participant! And here we are already at week 3 of 6. I am feeling pretty good about what we've been able to get done to date {I say we, because Scott is a vital part of this challenge}, but we still have a long ways to go in order to get Beckett's new room completed in just three more weeks! Before I give you this week's update, here's a quick refresher. We are decorating a brand new, "big boy" room for ... View the Post
