The leaves have just started changing here in Denver, but up in the mountains it's a different story. I am hoping that this weekend we might have a chance to take a drive to the foothills to enjoy all the gorgeous colors of fall. While it will still be a while before the leaves start falling in our neighborhood, some colorful leaves are already falling inside are home thanks to a quick and easy fall leaf garland that I made for our kitchen window. If you've been reading my blog for a while, ... View the Post

{five minute friday} Edge Colored Burlap Leaves
I skipped Five Minute Friday last week because I was participating in a fun Halloween Costume Blog Hop with 80+ other bloggers, but I'm back this week with another five minute project, and this time it's a quick fall decor tip. You might have spotted these pretty edge colored leaves in my Fall Home Tour. They were so quick and easy, but look great on my entry table, so I thought I'd share the tutorial for you. I picked up one inexpensive package of burlap leaves from Hobby Lobby ... View the Post

DIY Photo Transfer Tray
With Valentine's Day right around the corner, I wanted to show you how easy it is to transfer one of your favorite photos to an acrylic serving tray! It makes a meaningful gift for your significant other, or even your best friend, and the possibilities are endless! For my tray, I chose a photo from our honeymoon in Santorini, Greece, and overlaid the quote, "It's not where you travel...It's who you travel with!" Thank you to Adobe for providing the supplies for this project! This post ... View the Post
How to Give Photos a Metallic Glow
When my blog was about one week old and had maybe two readers {you know who you are} I posted an awesome photo trick! This is one of my favorite projects, and it's super quick and easy, so today I'm bringing it back for Five Minute Friday! Let me show you how easy it is to give your photos a shiny, metallic glow. When I graduated from law school, my mom and I took a trip to a celebratory trip Savannah, Georgia. While there, we visited a great art gallery and I was struck by a ... View the Post
{seasonal style} A Beautifully Baby-Friendly Christmas Tree
I love me a pretty Christmas tree, but we all know that glass ornaments and babies are not a match made in heaven! Before we had kiddos, we usually put up a small-ish Christmas tree in our main floor living room filled with shiny and sparkly glass ornaments - but I always knew that once kids came along I wanted to put a larger tree in our basement family room. Last year was Beckett's first Christmas, and we promptly bought a new, larger Christmas tree (pre-lit = bonus!). But as I ... View the Post
{seasonal style} Quick Tip: Using Pipe Cleaners to Hang Garland
Getting our holiday decorations up has been a slow process this year. It seems like each day I get one more small decorating project finished - so at this rate I should have it all done in time to put it all away after Christmas! But sometimes things work out for the best because earlier this week, before I got around to wrapping our railings in garland, I came across a great tip (in a discussion board on Houzz) that I was able to try out right away. I don't know about you, ... View the Post

The Easiest Way to Deep Clean a BBQ Grill
Raise your hand if you're ready for summer grilling season. Me too! I'm so eager to get our patio ready for family dinners and entertaining friends. We've uncovered the patio furniture, we'll plant flowers and grasses in our pots and planter bench soon, and the BBQ grill needed a really thorough cleaning. This last one is a task I usually dread, but this year I found an easier method! We always use a wire brush to give the top of the grates a quick cleaning after each meal, while the BBQ ... {entertaining with style} A Simple Elmo Cake & Basic Cake Decorating Tips
I pride myself on being pretty well rounded when it comes to the world of arts and crafts, but if there is one thing that I know almost nothing about, it's cake decorating. I'm not proud of this, especially considering that when I was little my mom was a professional cake decorator and taught cake decorating classes. Now that I have kids, I want to be able to create fun cakes for them like my mom did for my sister and I when we were little. So this year I asked my mom to help me create a simple ... View the Post
Sharing the Love with a Valentine’s Banner Printable
In the past we have never had any Valentine decorations around the house. Some years it seems like I can barely get the Christmas decorations down by the end of January, so putting up more decorations for February seemed like too much work. But ever since we added some bright pink accents in our living room, Valentine's Day has been calling my name. So this year I designed a cute banner to drape across a large painting that hangs in our entry/living room - pink of course! One of my ... View the Post
