This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Cricut. All opinions are 100% mine. Cricut has long been established as the ultimate crafting tool! And while I get my craft on from time to time, I've always used my Cricut cutting machine primarily for organizing. While I love my Cricut Explore Air (and am coveting a Cricut Maker for it's ability to cut even more materials), the truth is that both machines are much more powerful than what I need for the majority of my projects. I love ... View the Post

{decorating with style} Designing a Gender Neutral Nursery
Long before I was ever pregnant with our son, Beckett, I started imagining how I would someday want to decorate a nursery. Scott and I had already made the decision that we would want the baby’s sex to be a surprise, so that meant a gender neutral nursery would be in order. Many family and friends acquainted with my Type A personality seemed surprised that I wouldn’t want to know the whether we were having a boy or a girl so that I could plan accordingly. I had a different ... View the Post
How to Create a Custom Door Label with Cricut
A year after completing the makeover of our master bathroom, the barn door on our closet remains one of my favorite details of the space! Based on your comments, it seems to be one of your favorite features as well. Over time, a lot of you have asked me how we added the "Dressing Room" label to the barn door, so today I wanted to share the easy DIY tutorial. I created this custom door label using my Cricut electronic cutter, which is one of the most versatile and fun tools I own for decor, ... View the Post
{decorating with style} Nursery Reveal!
If you’ve been following along with my blog posts, then you know that our nursery has been in use for over a year now, but I have been reliving the design process through a series of posts about the design concept, the space plan and furniture, and how we painted the ombre wall stripes. And now, the moment I’m sure you’ve all been waiting for (*wink*wink*)... the big reveal of the finished room! But first, a couple of reminders. Here is the moodboard I created for the nursery - ... {decorating with style} Nursery Space Plan & Furniture Selections
In my first post about the nursery, I talked about my design inspiration and color selections. Once we had settled on the paint colors, I knew it was time to get serious about purchasing furniture for the room. Since the room we are using as the nursery is quite narrow - measuring 9’ x 14’, with an additional 4’ x 2.5’ nook next to the closet, I figured we'd better start with some space planning. First I made a list of the furniture pieces I felt were necessary in the ... View the Post
{decorating with style} Zebra Drapes in the Nursery
I can FINALLY call the nursery done! About darn time considering Beckett is almost 20 months old and a big brother. The nursery has been almost complete for a year and a half, but with the zebra striped cornice boards installed I was finally able to hang the drapes. Long before I was pregnant, I had plans to decorate a gender neutral nursery with an animal theme. I had picked up some sheer zebra window panels from Target knowing they would one day be ... Organizing Kids Toys with Labels that Are Easy to Update
Raise your hand if you love to label ALL. THE. THINGS? Me too! Labeling is one of the most important steps in the process of creating an organized space, because it makes it easy for everyone in the family to find what they need, and makes it much easier to put everything away where it belongs. But not all labels are created equal. A label is only good if it's accurate, so it's important to make labels easy to update for those spots in the house where the contents are likely to change ... Armoire Baby Central: A Changing Station and Organized Baby Clothes
We are getting settled in at home as a family of four, and Cooper is such a wonderful new addition! It's always amazing to me how much stuff comes along with such a tiny little person. Fortunately this time around there wasn't much new that we needed to purchase, but there was still the question of where to put it all. When we were preparing for the arrival of baby number one a year and half ago, we spent most of our time decorating the nursery and getting it organized with all ... View the Post
{organizing with style} Project Paint Storage and a Free Printable
To say we have a lot of latex paint might be an understatement! When we bought our home, the builder left us a touch up kit with 2 quarts of each color of paint used throughout the house (including the original wall colors, the trim, ceilings, and closet interior paints). Additionally, we have since repainted many of the rooms in the house, resulting in a lot more leftover paint (and in the case of the ombre stripes in the nursery we used five different colors). Until a few weeks ... View the Post
